EssayEdge.com Review
3.2 / 10 points
Unlike most professional assignment help services that you can find online, EssayEdge.com doesn’t offer writing assistance to its customers. Instead, they only provide proofreading and editing services. According to the information you can find on the front page of their website, this company was founded in 1997 and has been helping students ever since. They claim to only have native English-speaking editors from Ivy League schools and consider themselves to be an outstanding essay editing service.
There is no doubt that this website looks different than what you would expect from the best essay writing service. If you want to find out whether this company is legit and offers quality help, make sure to continue reading our EssayEdge review.
Services Offered
The primary objective of EssayEdge is to help proofread and edit essays written by college students. They offer four different editing packages to students, which you’ll learn more about later on in this Essay Edge review. Aside from helping students with their academic papers, they also provide proofreading and editing services for other types of documents, such as:
- Admission essays
- Personal statements
- Recommendation letters
- Cover letters
- Motivation letters
- Supplementary essays
- Statements of purpose
Based on what can be found on the company’s website, you will have a higher chance of getting admitted to a program or school of your preference if you use their services. Although this all sounds good on paper, we wanted to check whether this editing service is actually reliable.
Prices and Discounts
There are four packages you can choose from when you decide to make an order on Essay Edge. Your first option is the Proofreading package that costs $69 for 600 words and includes correcting typos and grammatical errors. If you choose this package, your editor will also give you some small suggestions on how to improve your paper.
The Standard option costs $149 for 600 words and includes professional proofreading, editing, and expert critique. If you want to choose this package for an essay consisting of 2,400 words, that would set you back $279. The All In One package is for any pack of documents that are consistent in style and complement each other. This option costs $199 for 2,400 words or less.
Finally, you have the Premier package that’ll set you back at least $379 and includes close cooperation with the editor assigned to your project. There is a discount available for this service. If you subscribe to their mailing list, you’ll get an EssayEdge coupon that will give you 12% discount for future orders.
Quality
Shortly after we began doing research on this company, we stumbled across multiple EssayEdge reviews online written by customers who used this service. What was somewhat surprising to us is that a lot of people had only negative things to say about the company.
We initially thought that this was a truly professional service, so we didn’t expect to come across negative reviews. After seeing that a lot of different people complained about the service, we decided to test it for ourselves. We chose what they described as their most popular option – the standard package.
We purposely changed a paper we had written to include various grammatical errors and made sure it lacked consistency and flow. After we received the updated version of your essay, we understood why there were so many negative Essay Edge reviews to be found online. The editors missed several errors we made and barely did anything to improve the flow and consistency of the paper.
Based on the information found on the website, we were also supposed to receive a detailed review of the essay structure, content, and tone. The ‘detailed’ review consisted of only two short paragraphs and wasn’t very helpful.
Support
You have three different methods of getting in contact with customer support. The first one is a phone number, the second is live chat, and your third option is to send an email. As we were writing this EssayEdge review, we wanted to see how helpful their support team is. We tried contacting them by phone but weren’t successful.
We managed to get ahold of an agent via live chat. However, the agent was not at all helpful and even rude during some parts of our conversation. We also expressed our dissatisfaction with the editing services provided to us and asked for a revision in an email, but we never got a response.
General Impression
If you’ve read our entire EssayEdge.com review, you know that we’re not happy with this service. Despite their promises of quality services, you can’t count on EssayEdge to help you with proofreading and editing. The services are so expensive that you can find a professional writer to do your whole paper for the same price.
